Who Is This?

One thing that tends to happen in any industry is that those who are in it use short forms and acronyms that aren’t familiar to the general public.  We toss them around like footballs, knowing exactly what they mean, while everyone else sits quietly by wondering what on earth we are talking about.  That got me to thinking that perhaps it was time to clear up the meanings behind some commonly used acronyms in the cleaning industry and the importance they play in providing our customers with clean and healthy workplaces.

ISSA - The International Sanitary Supply Association (ISSA) is the leading trade association for the cleaning industry worldwide, ISSA is committed to helping its members change the way the world views cleaning. ISSA promotes the vision that cleaning is an investment in human health, the environment, and an improved bottom line.

ARCSI - The Association of Residential Cleaning Services International (ARCSI) was established to assist residential cleaning service owners and professionals in starting, promoting, building and expanding their businesses. That commitment continues as ARCSI, a Division of ISSA.

GBAC - The Global Biorisk Advisory Council® (GBAC) helps organizations and businesses prepare for, respond to, and recover from biological threats, and biohazard situations and real-time crises. They offer education, training, certification, response management, and crisis consulting for situations where environments require a much higher level of cleaning, disinfection, and restoration. GBAC is a division of ISSA, the worldwide cleaning industry association.

HCT - The days of a house cleaner with a mop, bucket and vacuum are over. Today a professional is entrusted with the care of a home, its furnishings and the health of its occupants. With the many new materials and surfaces being used in home décor, a professional house cleaner has a much broader range of knowledge than in the past as many of these newer surfaces require specialized care.

In addition to caring for the home and its contents, a professional house cleaning technician helps care for health. This includes hygienic cleaning, effective sanitizing of surfaces, use of appropriate cleaning agents, and procedures to prevent cross contamination. A thorough vacuuming with a high-efficiency filtration vacuum is an important contributor to improved indoor air quality. An Institute of Inspection Cleaning and Restoration Certification-certified House Cleaning Technician is trained to properly care for homes and health. A consumer who uses a certified professional can confidently trust the cleaning and relax in a clean and healthy home.

It is critically important to all of us at Wright Cleaning Services Inc. that our customers understand our certifications and the organizations we rely on for our ongoing education.  We want you to be confident in the knowledge that you are receiving the best cleaning care possible for your business.  Let us help you take the worry out of providing a clean and healthy work environment for your employees.
